For our house wine we looked for the best price/quality offering within what’s available from our suppliers. Portuguese reds are made from a variety of grapes, some of which are unique to Portugal. They pair well with a variety of dishes, including roasted meats, stews, and hearty pasta dishes. Their acidity and tannins can cut through rich, fatty foods, while its flavours can complement spicy or highly seasoned dishes.

From the Atlantic/Mediterranean microclimate south of Lisbon comes this blend of native grapes with a dash of Cabernet Sauvignon. Nice notes of chocolate, liquorice, some nuts, dark berries and raisin. The palate has flavours of butter, black cherry, dark chocolate and clove. Tannins are balanced, alcohol is well integrated and acidity adds character to a medium finish.

A modern Douro red. Blend of native grapes, aged for 6 months in French oak barrels, with a predominance of very old vines planted in terraces.
