From Our Hearts

We know our love. The relation with Ireland began in 2014, every year we took our role as tourists and travelled back and forth across the island. In 2017 we set foot in Galway and it was the proverbial "love at first sight", we moved in and 2019 saw the opening of the famed Apoema Bistro, a food haven created with great care and even greater love. 

The unplanned twists of life took us back to Portugal in 2022 and we ended up opening Raizes Bistro, the sibling of Apoema Bistro in the Douro Valley wine region. Because we don't know how to stay quiet...
But there is no love like the first one, 2023 brought us back to Galway, to Alma Restaurant. Our new project and an evolution in the path of everything we've done, the same love in cooking, the same care in serving, the same passion that make us whole.
